Monica Vitti and Fausto Bertinotti collections head to Finarte auction in Milan
Finarte's Modern and Contemporary Art auction in Milan on July 2, 2025, features around 150 lots, including works from the collections of actress Monica Vitti and former politician Fausto Bertinotti and his wife Lella. A highlight is Alberto Burri's 'Texas' (1945), his first painting, created during his internment at a prisoner-of-war camp in Hereford, Texas, estimated at €600,000-800,000. From Monica Vitti's collection come Giorgio de Chirico's 'Bagni misteriosi' (1935, est. €400,000-600,000) and 'Niobe' (1921, est. €450,000-650,000), plus Giacomo Balla's 'Compenetrazione iridescente – studio per Penetrazione + spazio' (1912, est. €65,000-80,000).
