Monica Marioni's 'Lasciami andare' addresses toxic relationships in Taranto
Monica Marioni (born 1972, Naples) presents 'Lasciami andare', an itinerant art project exploring the journey out of toxic relationships. Curated by Maria Rosa Sossai, the exhibition is on view until January 14 at the hypogeum of Palazzo Spartera in Taranto. The project features installations and video performances that trace phases from possessiveness and manipulation to self-reclamation and rebirth. In Taranto, the immersive experience includes four works: 'Porta', a neon vulva marking entry; 'Quieto' with the video 'Il Battesimo' and screens 'Olia' and 'Villa Lysis'; 'Libera', featuring a red balloon and voices from the anti-violence center Sostegno Donna; and 'Trauma', with red imagery and the projection 'La colpa'. The project has also been shown in Naples, Vicenza, Capri, and Lecce.
