Monica Biancardi's 'Il capitale che cresce' at MAN Nuoro documents Bedouin twins and Palestinian fragmentation

exhibition · 2026-04-22

The MAN museum in Nuoro will host Monica Biancardi's exhibition titled 'Il capitale che cresce' from April 24, 2026, until June 14. Curated by Chiara Gatti, the showcase includes eleven black-and-white images of Bedouin twins Saleha and Sara, whom Biancardi encountered in Palestine. Additionally, seven etched plexiglass maps illustrate the fragmentation of Palestine since 1917, while a travel video captures the journey from East Jerusalem to Hataleen. Drawings by local children depict the unreachable sea. Funded by PAC 2025, the project features a discussion with Gatti and Biancardi on April 23. A catalog published by Interlinea contains writings by Gatti and Lorenzo Benedetti. Biancardi observes the twins' emotional transition from happiness to tension following COVID-19, mirroring wider restrictions in Hebron's Area C.
