Monet's Water Lilies film to screen in Italian cinemas

other · 2026-05-04

A new film-documentary titled "Le Ninfee di Monet" will be screened exclusively in Italian cinemas on November 26, 27, and 28, 2018, as part of the "La Grande Arte al Cinema" series produced by Nexo Digital. Produced by Ballandi Arts, the film explores Claude Monet's passion for water lilies, a subject he repeatedly painted in his later years. The documentary takes viewers to Paris (Musée Marmottan, Musée de l'Orangerie, Musée d'Orsay), Giverny (Fondation Monet, the artist's house and garden), and Étretat. Actress Elisa Lasowski guides the audience, with scientific consultancy by historian and author Ross King, whose book "Il mistero delle ninfee" is published by Rizzoli. Additional insights come from Flemish photographer Sanne De Wilde and Fondation Monet gardener Claire Hélène Marron. The original soundtrack is by Remo Anzovino.
