Monet exhibition at Rome's Vittoriano sparks ticket rush

exhibition · 2026-05-05

A major Claude Monet exhibition opening October 19 at the Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome is already seeing a surge in ticket sales. Curated by Marianne Mathieu, the show features about sixty works from the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, all paintings kept by the artist at his final home in Giverny and later donated by his son Michel. The survey spans from early caricatures of the late 1850s through rural and urban landscapes of London, Paris, Vétheuil, and Pourville, portraits of his children, garden flowers, weeping willows, the rose avenue, the Japanese bridge, and the monumental Water Lilies. The exhibition is expected to draw huge crowds, with pre-sales already underway.
