Monet Exhibition at Albertina Museum Vienna Opens September 21

A major Claude Monet exhibition opens at the Albertina Museum in Vienna on September 21, 2018, running through January 6, 2019. The show, simply titled "Claude Monet," brings together 100 works from leading international institutions including the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the National Gallery in London, the National Museum of Western Art in Tokyo, and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow. Curated by Heinz Widauer in collaboration with the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris, the exhibition marks Monet's return to Vienna after more than 20 years. Key paintings on view include "On the Boat" (1887), "Boulevard des Capucines" (1873), "The Red Kerchief" (1873), "The Japanese Bridge" (1918-1924), and "The House Among the Roses" (1925). The exhibition follows recent Monet shows at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid and the recently concluded exhibition at the Orangerie in Paris.
