MoMI's 'By the People, For the People' screening series for US 250th anniversary
Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) will present the screening series "By the People, For the People: Real American Tales" from May 29 through July 5, 2025, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The series features films that center on historically marginalized and underrepresented perspectives in American cinema, including works about collective labor and the underclass (The Grapes of Wrath, Matewan, Days of Heaven), immigrant communities (The Exiles, Los Sures), and the disenfranchised (Nothing but a Man, Buddies).
