MoMA Launches 'At the Museum' Web Series Behind the Scenes
The Museum of Modern Art in New York has launched a new web series titled 'At the Museum,' releasing episodes every Friday on its YouTube channel. The eight-episode series reveals the invisible yet essential work of museum staff, including installation, deinstallation, restoration, transport, conservation, visitor studies, and exhibition design. The first episode, 'Shipping & Receiving,' focuses on the delicate processes of packing, transporting, and unpacking artworks. During filming, MoMA was preparing to ship about 200 masterpieces to the Fondation Vuitton in Paris for the exhibition 'Etre Moderne: le MoMA à Paris.' Subsequent episodes focus on exhibitions of Max Ernst and Louise Bourgeois, with one episode entirely dedicated to the possible 'purposes of art.'
