Mohamed Bourouissa's First Zurich Solo Show at Migros Museum

The Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst in Zurich presents a carte blanche exhibition to Franco-Algerian artist Mohamed Bourouissa, running from June 13 to September 6, 2026. Born in Blida in 1978 and raised in Courbevoie, Bourouissa has become known for his nuanced observations of urban margins. His foundational series "Périphérique" photographed youth from Parisian housing projects with the grandeur of history paintings by Géricault and Delacroix. Fifteen years later, the museum grants him full curatorial freedom. The exhibition extends his investigation into new geographies and memories, featuring photographs, videos, installations, and collaborative work with local communities. This marks Bourouissa's first solo exhibition in Zurich.
