Moguang Studio Designs Kawagebo Snow Mountain Hotel in Yunnan

Moguang Studio has finalized the Kawagebo Snow Mountain Hotel, a 2,500 m² establishment situated at the Thirteen Towers Viewing Platform within Meili Snow Mountain National Park in Diqing, Yunnan. Located near Wunongding Village, which has felt the effects of tourism growth, the hotel’s design does not romanticize an 'authentic Tibet.' Instead, the architects tackled the site’s challenges, including a narrow roadside boundary, visual disorder, temporary constructions, and ongoing work. The intention is to provide a serene escape in a visually overwhelming setting. The project was spearheaded by LI Jiaying and FENG Xin, with MEP consulting from He Chunhun, Liu Hongfei, and Wei Tianliang, while construction was executed by Shanghai Ye You Zhu Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. for Shanghai Shanhai Youye Hotel Group Co., Ltd. Engineering was overseen by Ma Zhigang, with photography by Yumeng Zhu, Haiting Sun, and Moguang Studio. Suppliers included AtelierSo Studio, Chengdu Qianshu, Ganzi Nire Handwoven Carpets, among others.
