Moebius retrospective at PAFF! in Pordenone extended through March 13

The PAFF! Palazzo Arti Fumetto Friuli in Pordenone is hosting 'Moebius. Alla ricerca del tempo', the largest Italian retrospective ever dedicated to the French comic artist Moebius (Jean Giraud), who died in Paris in 2012. The exhibition, originally presented last summer at the MANN – Museo Archeologico di Napoli, has been extended by four weeks and runs until March 13. It features over 300 works, including 153 original drawings, signed engravings, limited edition prints, and set designs, spread across the rooms of Villa Galvani. The central theme is Moebius's relationship with time, explored through illustrations inspired by Greek myths, futuristic visions from 'Le faune de Mars', introspective plates from '40 jours dans le Désert B', and a section dedicated to Dante Alighieri's 'Paradiso' created for the 700th anniversary of Dante's death in 2021. The exhibition also includes a 52-minute documentary 'Metamœbius' directed by Damian Pettigrew and Olivier Gal, and uses augmented reality to enhance the visitor experience. The show is organized in collaboration with the Comicon festival in Naples. Regional Culture Councillor Tiziana Gibelli praised the exhibition as proof of PAFF!'s international excellence, while Isabelle Giraud of Moebius Production highlighted the venue's architecture as a blend of preserved woodland, restored old building, and contemporary extension, ideal for displaying the works.
