Modern Forms Collection Partners with ArtReview for Talks and Films
Modern Forms, a contemporary art collection and editorial platform founded in 2016 by Hussam Otaibi, has launched a partnership with ArtReview. The collaboration includes a series of talks at the ArtReview Bar, with the next event featuring Marguerite Humeau on 15 December, and a presentation of artist films on artreview.com from December to February 2018. Otaibi, a British entrepreneur and Managing Partner of Floreat Group, established Modern Forms to support emerging art and creativity. Creative Director Nick Hackworth, formerly of Paradise Row gallery, works with Otaibi to acquire significant works by artists like Yuri Pattison, Marguerite Humeau, and Beatriz Olabarrieta. The collection includes Samara Scott's Lonely Planet II, installed at Floreat's office, and John Gerard's Flag (Thames). Modern Forms supports artists through commissions and institutional collaborations, such as working with Nigerian sound artist Emeka Ogboh on a new piece for 1.54 Contemporary African Art Fair at Somerset House and supporting his Tate exhibition. The platform also features online editorial projects and films by artists including Hannah Quinlan & Rosie Hastings, Desiree Dolron, and Jonas Mekas. Upcoming digital projects with ArtReview include a film by Marguerite Humeau exploring the Sphinx and a piece by Jake Chapman on pessimism. Otaibi also chairs the charity Children & The Arts.
