Modena's Museo della Figurina to Exhibit Fiorucci Stickers Album

exhibition · 2026-05-04

The Museo della Figurina in Modena will host 'Pop Therapy. Lo spirito rivoluzionario delle figurine Fiorucci' from March 9, celebrating the iconic Fiorucci Stickers album published by Edizioni Panini in 1984. The album, which sold over 25 million packs, features 200 stickers encapsulating the graphic history of the Milanese fashion house. Curated by Diana Baldon and Francesca Fontana, the exhibition is organized into six thematic sections: Fiorucci Story, Electron, Pin Up, Dance, Romance, and Swim. It traces the maison's visual evolution from Italo Lupi's cherubs (1970) to Oliviero Toscani's advertising campaigns. The album's distinctive design—a brightly colored binder with a magnetic button containing 28 movable cards—turned it into a cult object, fueling 'Fioruccimania'. An installation by artist Ludovica Gioscia, inspired by 1980s culture, complements the show.
