MLS Match to Be First Pro Sports Broadcast Shot Entirely on iPhone
On May 23, a Major League Soccer match featuring LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo FC will be streamed entirely using iPhone 17 Pro smartphones, a first for a major professional live sports event. This broadcast, a collaboration with MLS, will occur at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, just before the league's break for the FIFA World Cup 2026, co-hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico. The iPhone 17 Pro will document everything from pre-game warmups to player introductions and crowd reactions, with cameras strategically placed around the stadium. Previously, Apple showcased the iPhone 17 Pro in select moments during Friday Night Baseball, including a game between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. The broadcast will be free for all Apple TV subscribers, starting at 10:30 PM ET.
