Mixed by Erry: Sydney Sibilia's Film on Naples' Pirate DJ Brothers

Sydney Sibilia's film 'Mixed by Erry' tells the true story of the Frattasio brothers from Naples who built a music empire by selling mixtapes in the 1980s. Enrico Frattasio, known as Erry, wanted to be a DJ and, with his brothers Peppe and Angelo, created a small music shop in Forcella that grew into Italy's first 'label' of pirated cassettes. The film highlights their ingenuity and brotherhood, leading to legal issues. Sibilia and screenwriter Armando Festa met Erry and discovered the brothers' story. The film stars Luigi D'Oriano, Giuseppe Arena, and Emanuele Palumbo as the brothers. Producer Matteo Rovere of Groenlandia describes it as an American dream set in Naples. The father, played by Adriano Pantaleo, continues selling fake whiskey despite his sons' success. Cristiana Dell'Anna plays the mother. The film was released on March 2, 2023, by 01 Distribution with 350 copies. Sibilia's previous works include 'Smetto quando voglio' and 'L'isola delle rose'.
