festival-fair · 2026-05-04

At the 76th Venice International Film Festival, Miu Miu presented two new short films as part of its ongoing Women’s Tales series, which supports female creativity in cinema. The 17th film, Shako Mako, directed by model and filmmaker Hailey Gates, initially appears set in Iraq but is revealed to be a film set at Fort Irwin military base in California. The 18th film, Brigitte, directed by acclaimed Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay, is a black-and-white documentary portrait of French photographer Brigitte Lacombe, who resides in New York and published the collection Lacombe anima/persona in 2009. The series is sponsored by the Miu Miu brand under Miuccia Prada and is presented within the Giornate degli Autori (Venice Days) section of the festival.
