MiTo SettembreMusica 2016: A Monothematic Turn to Classical Music

The MiTo SettembreMusica festival, connecting Milan and Turin, has undergone a transformation with Nicola Campogrande as its new artistic director. The 2016 festival shifts from a multilingual format to a singular focus on classical music, centering around the theme "Padri e figli" (Fathers and Sons). This year's program highlights musical heritage, including a performance by pianist Andrea Lucchesini alongside the Elementi dell'Orchestra Giovanile Italiana featuring works by Schumann and Brahms. Scheduled from September 2 to 22, it begins at Teatro Regio in Turin on September 2 and continues at Teatro alla Scala in Milan on September 3 with "Debussy recasted" performed by the London Symphony Orchestra under Gianandrea Noseda. New additions include educational programs and an "Opening Singing" on September 10 in Milan and September 11 in Turin, with ticket prices remaining affordable.
