Mirendil Signs $100M+ Google Cloud Deal for Self-Improving AI

Mirendil, an AI laboratory, has entered into a multi-year agreement with Google Cloud for access to computational resources to support its self-enhancing AI research, according to TechCrunch. This partnership, which exceeds $100 million in value, was validated by co-founder and CEO Behnam Neyshabur and constitutes approximately half of the seed funding acquired in June at a valuation of $1 billion. The company plans to leverage Google's TPUs, Nvidia GPUs, and managed training clusters to create AI that can automate scientific research. Co-founder Harsh Mehta emphasized the necessity of aligning workloads with hardware, while Google’s Amin Vahdat pointed out that progress in AI depends on the orchestration of complete systems. Neyshabur remarked that Mirendil’s software improves the efficiency of Google’s hardware, benefiting both organizations.
