Mirella Barracco resigns as president of Carditello Foundation

Mirella Stampa Barracco has resigned as president of the Fondazione Real Sito di Carditello, citing the difficulty of balancing the role with her work at Fondazione Napoli Novantanove, which is undergoing a period of extraordinary growth. Barracco expressed that the commitment required for the Carditello project may have been underestimated, noting the need for personnel and funds. Her resignation comes after only five months in the position, during which she initiated several projects, including the establishment of a temporary headquarters at the Palazzo Reale di Napoli and the development of a website. The future of the royal site, whose acquisition by the state was a key achievement of former minister Massimo Bray, now faces a restart. Until a new president is appointed by Minister Dario Franceschini, senior councillor Luigi Cimmino will assume presidential functions. The incoming director, Angela Tecce, an art historian who previously directed Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples and currently heads the Polo Museale della Calabria, will provide substantial support. Her arrival will trigger a new round of appointments as she leaves her current position.
