MIRANDO School in Florence Studies Body-Art Relationships
Virgilio Sieni, Florentine choreographer and director of the Centro nazionale di Produzione della Danca that bears his name, has launched MIRANDO | Scuola abitare il museo in Florence. This is the first school entirely dedicated to studying the relationship between the body and artworks. The school is promoted by Fondazione CR Firenze and Centro di Produzione della Danza Cango/Firenze. It aims to open a renewed perception of cultural heritage and reflect on museum accessibility and the emotional geography of the body. The training consists of four intensive weekend modules from September 27 to November 30, 2025, combining fieldwork and lectures by art and culture experts. Venues include Florence's cenacoli of Andrea del Sarto, Sant'Apollonia, Ognissanti, and Fuligno, as well as the Museo Benozzo Gozzoli in Castelfiorentino, Museo della Collegiata di Sant'Andrea in Empoli, Museo Civico e Diocesano in Fucecchio, and Museo Archeologico in Montelupo Fiorentino. The school is free and open to non-profit organizations operating in museums, associations, and cooperatives in Florence, Arezzo, and Grosseto provinces. Applications are due by September 15, 2025, with results announced on September 20. The project builds on Sieni's earlier initiatives Abitare il Museo – Il corpo dell'Arte and Territori del gesto.
