Mirabilia Urbis: Contemporary Art Along Rome's Ancient Pilgrimage Route
Between October 7 and 13, 2019, the Mirabilia Urbis exhibition turns Rome's ancient pilgrimage path into a contemporary outdoor art showcase. This initiative, curated by Giuliana Benassi and envisioned by Carlo Caloro, is produced by artQ13 and backed by Rome's Assessorato alle Politiche Culturali e Beni Culturali. The exhibition spans various sites in the Rioni Parione and Regola neighborhoods, such as Cinema Farnese, libreria Fahrenheit 451, Palazzo Falconieri (home to the Accademia), the historic Hollywood bar, a luthier's workshop, and Colli Independent Art Gallery. Each of these historically significant locations features works by contemporary artists, including Alterazioni Video, Tomaso Binga, and others. The artworks—encompassing video, installation, photography, painting, sculpture, and performance—provide fresh insights into the cultural and historical landscape. Performances are scheduled for Monday, October 7, the opening day, with a guided tour commencing at Piazza Campo de' Fiori (reservation needed).
