Minuspluse Design Transforms Tainan Townhouse into Human Haus TN Retail Space
Minuspluse Design, a Taiwanese company, has finalized Human Haus TN, an adaptive reuse initiative in Tainan that transforms a classic townhouse into a modern retail space. This 64-square-meter endeavor, completed in 2023, was spearheaded by architects Yu-Hsuan Chu and Yu-Chen Chang, who also led the main team. Miwa Negoro curated the design, which features minimal alterations: it retains the exposed brick walls, timber roof framework, and original dimensions while introducing a sleek white volume as an additional spatial element. By selectively removing ceilings and walls, the original structure is unveiled, enabling the building to be perceived as a temporal section. The project is categorized under Adaptive Reuse and Retail Interiors.
