Minor Regional Novelist at Nature of Things, Dallas
Nature of Things gallery in Dallas presents "Minor Regional Novelist," a group exhibition featuring 16 artists with works spanning the 1930s to the present. Curated by founder Tessa Granowski, the show pairs historical regionalists from the Dallas Nine—such as Jerry Bywaters, Alexandre Hogue, and William Lester—with contemporary artists like Will Boone, Emily Budd, George Zupp, El Franco Lee II, and Carrie Cook. The exhibition explores Texas and Southwest identity through themes of individualism, landscape, and myth. Works include Boone's installation of his uncle's belongings, Budd's queer sculptures, Zupp's humorous rodeo scenes, and Lee's painting of DJ Screw. The show runs through May 30, 2026, at the gallery located above Deep Vellum bookstore.
