MINE: Video Sound Art Festival Transforms Milan's Albergo Diurno with Ali Kazma and Ceramic Works
The Video Sound Art Festival, directed by Laura Lamonea since 2011, presents MINE at the Albergo Diurno Venezia in Milan from November 29 to December 1, 2018. The exhibition features over 60 video works by Turkish artist Ali Kazma (born 1971, Istanbul), represented by Galleria Francesca Minini. Kazma, who represented Turkey at the 55th Venice Biennale, explores human production and maintenance in his series Obstructions and Resistance. The festival also includes a residency collaboration with the Real Fabbrica della Porcellana and Museo di Capodimonte, resulting in new ceramic works by Oli Bonzanigo (born 1989, Milan), Diego Cibelli (born 1987, Naples), and Caterina Morigi (born 1991, Ravenna). Cibelli's Serenissima is inspired by 18th-century domestic space and Bourbon weaving technique; Bonzanigo's I was a nervous heat is a porcelain spine divided into sections; Morigi's photographic intervention documents damage from a recent tornado in Naples. The event is supported by the Municipality of Milan, Lombardy Region, and FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano, offering bilingual guided tours. A ceramic workshop with master ceramists from the Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte will be held at the nearby Libreria di Via Tadino. Admission is free with mandatory reservation.
