Mind The Earth: site-specific art invades Rome's Metro A

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Starting May 7, 2024, a train on the Metro A line in Rome will feature unique artworks from eight different artists, including Nicola Bertellotti and Giacomo Costa, for five months. The exhibition, named 'Mind The Earth,' is a collaboration between IRAE magazine, the nonprofit Yourban 2030, and ATAC, which oversees public transport in Rome. Curated by Angelo Cricchi and Veronica De Angelis, the display will transform various train surfaces with surreal images of barren landscapes, vibrant plants, and whimsical creatures. The initiative aims to raise awareness about climate change, using the phrase 'mind the planet' in place of the usual 'mind the gap.' Passengers can also scan a QR code for music by Marco Del Bene to enhance their journey.
