Mina's new music video 'Abban-dono' created with AI by IULM AI Lab

Italian singer Mina, born in Busto Arsizio in 1940, continues to innovate with the release of the music video for 'Abban-dono', a track from her album 'Dilettevoli Eccedenze 2'. The song, written by Daniele Magro and Saturnino Celani and recorded in 2023, is a late love ballad. The video was produced by the IULM AI Lab at IULM University in Milan, under the creative direction of Eugenio Di Fraia, with input from choreographers, costume designers, and image consultants. It uses cutting-edge AI software, some still experimental. The video opens with a white tiger in Cremona's Piazza del Duomo, referencing Mina's nickname 'the Tiger of Cremona'. It features over thirty symbolic representations of Mina, including a mature woman in a trench coat and sunglasses walking through a futuristic museum where masterpieces like Leonardo's Mona Lisa, Botticelli's Primavera, and Munch's The Scream bear her face. The project aims to showcase the possibilities of combining human creativity with artificial intelligence, blending art history and transcending temporal boundaries.
