Mimosa Echard's Collaborative Exhibition at Galerie VNH

Mimosa Echard's solo exhibition at Galerie VNH in Paris, titled 'Cracher une image de toi / Spitting an image of you,' transforms into a collective show by inviting artists Ryan Foerster and Hannah Buonaguro. The exhibition runs from July 3 to July 27, 2019. Echard's practice inherently involves collaboration, often engaging her female relatives and villagers from the Cévennes. The show features a video monitor behind a stained glass window inspired by Hildegard of Bingen's medieval medical texts, a large patchwork curtain with printed photographs and silicone, a door by Buonaguro and Foerster referencing Marcel Duchamp, and a wire structure housing photographic works and a video. Echard's 'A/B 10' (2016) is concurrently on view at the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris. The exhibition emphasizes relationships, interactions, and the balance of opposing forces, with materials collected and arranged in a playful yet rigorous manner.
