Mimmo Rotella's 2016 Milan Tribute: Four Galleries Showcase Unseen Works

Milan honors Mimmo Rotella (1918-2006) with a diffuse exhibition across four galleries for the tenth anniversary of his death. Galleria Carla Sozzani presents nine works, eight previously unseen, focusing on eroticism through photographic transfer and frottage. Robilant + Voena shows 'The Maverick Mimmo Rotella' featuring 1960s photographic transfers like 'Violenza segreta' (1963) and 'Divertiamoci' (1966), along with artypos and later works from the 'years of lead.' Cardi Gallery displays the 'Blanks' series (1980-1982), where advertising posters are covered with monochrome paper, leaving only a small portion visible. Fondazione Marconi closes the series with Rotella's famous décollages. The exhibition runs from October to November 2016 at various venues, including Corso Como 10 and Via Tadino 15.
