Mimeus Architettura has completed the Lezuo Belvedere gondola station at Passo Pordoi, part of the Sella Ronda circuit in the Dolomites. The station avoids both camouflage and spectacle, instead using formal honesty and material precision. Two distinct volumes reduce perceived mass, clad in bush-hammered exposed precast concrete and light green expanded metal. The green color matches the lift operator's corporate identity, reinforcing visual coherence. The design prioritizes operational logic over alpine typology or ornament. The project connects to a broader trend in Alpine station design, exemplified by Peter Pichler Architecture's Valbione stations. The station functions as a threshold, machine, and landmark, handling thousands of daily passengers.
