Milo Manara's 'Secret Gardens' Exhibition Opens at PAFF! in Pordenone

The PAFF! Palazzo Arti Fumetto Friuli in Pordenone has reopened with 'Manara Secret Gardens,' a comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the influential Italian comic artist Milo Manara. Curated by Claudio Curcio, Matteo Stefanelli, and Alino di Comicon, the show runs until August 15 and features around ninety original works spanning Manara's career, including comics, advertising drawings, illustrations, and homages. The immersive exhibition design by Corde Architetti studio of Venice incorporates video content and experiential installations. Highlights include three original drawings by Federico Fellini, a handwritten letter and watercolor layout for Hugo Pratt's 'El Gaucho,' original plates from Manara's 2015 two-volume work 'Caravaggio,' unpublished drawings from his early experimental piece 'Alessio il borghese rivoluzionario,' and three illustrations created for Ulysse Nardin watches. Manara, who recently published his first autobiography with Feltrinelli Editore, expressed hope to visit the exhibition in person before it closes. Artistic director Giulio De Vita noted that the exhibition fulfills a promise made to Manara three years ago at PAFF!'s opening.
