Milo Manara's Mozart-inspired drawings on display in Avellino

exhibition · 2026-04-27

From January 13 to March 9, 2024, the Museo Irpino in Avellino will host an exhibition titled 'Milo Manara – Così fan tutte. Le metamorfosi d’amore,' showcasing Milo Manara's artwork inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera 'Così fan tutte.' This display features sketches and costume designs, including pieces previously exhibited at the Galleria di Palazzo Pianetti in Jesi during the Teatro Pergolesi's 56th season, along with new pencil and watercolor works. The exhibition, organized in partnership with Comicon Napoli, also presents nine illustrations marking the 250th anniversary of Mozart's inaugural concert in Italy on December 25, 1769, at Palazzo Todeschi in Rovereto. The project was commissioned by a consortium of theaters, directed by Stefano Vizioli, including Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini di Jesi and others. Additionally, Manara plans to release the second volume of the 'Il nome della rosa' comic in 2024.
