Milo Manara and Silver Pay Homage to Giacomo Puccini in Milan Exhibition

WOW Spazio Fumetto – Museo del Fumetto di Milano presents 'Puccini 100 – Vissi di nona arte', opening November 29, 2024, curated by Enrico Ercole. The exhibition features original comic art by leading Italian cartoonists commissioned to celebrate the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death. Milo Manara contributes panels inspired by 'Madama Butterfly' and 'Tosca', depicting the heroines with his signature sensuality. Silver reimagines Mimì and Rodolfo from 'La Bohème' as his iconic characters Lupo Alberto and Marta. Mirka Andolfo illustrates 'Manon Lescaut', while Simone Bianchi (Marvel/DC) portrays Tosca with the features of conductor Beatrice Venezi. Other participating artists include Silvia Ziche, Giuseppe Palumbo, Claudio Villa, Lola Airaghi, Fabio Celoni, Claudio Sciarrone, Fabiano Ambu, Adriano Carnevali, and Sandro Dossi. The show is part of 'Prima Diffusa' in collaboration with the Comune di Milano and Teatro alla Scala. Director Luigi Bona stated the museum will also broadcast the La Scala premiere on December 7. The exhibition runs until January 5, 2025, and is organized with the Fondazione Giacomo Puccini.
