Milliony Arlekina: New Gallery Opens in Milan with Giacomo Serpani Show
A new gallery named Milliony Arlekina has opened in Milan at Via Nino Bixio 36, in the Porta Venezia district. The name derives from a Russian translation of the French comic ballet Les Millions d'Arlequin, evoking Harlequin and Venetian masks. Founded by curator Daria Miricola (Bari, 1996) and artist Giacomo Serpani (Mestre, 1996), with interiors designed by Daniel Sansavini, the gallery aims to critically and ironically reinterpret the contemporary art market. The inaugural event featured a book launch celebrating 30 years of the streetwear brand Supreme New York. The first exhibition, "Time Smoking a Picture" by Giacomo Serpani, runs until July 9, 2024. Serpani's work blends graffiti culture with contemporary figurative painting, inviting viewers to reflect on the contemporary world. The gallery plans to host solo shows by young artists, punctuated by collaborations with international publishing houses and independent brands.
