Millennial Designers Reimagine Memphis Radicalism at ADI Design Museum

At the ADI Design Museum in Milan, the exhibition titled 'Supersuperfici – the spirit of Memphis reloaded' showcases the work of eight millennial designers who reinterpret the groundbreaking influence of the Memphis Group. Established on December 11, 1980, by Ettore Sottsass and others, Memphis revolutionized design with its striking colors and patterns. Curated by Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni, the exhibit explores the meaning of radicalism today and speculates on how Memphis might have developed if it had been founded in 2021. Featured designers include Federico Angi, Zanellato Bortotto, Agustina Bottoni, Antonio De Marco, Chiara Moreschi, Martinelli Venezia, Panter & Tourron, and Mario Scairato. They focused on Memphis's philosophy rather than its style, utilizing Abet Laminati materials to create contemporary solutions. The exhibition is open until September 24 at Piazza Compasso d'Oro 1, Milan.
