Milano Scultura 2024 moves to Villa Bagatti Valsecchi in Varedo

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

The eighth edition of Milano Scultura, Italy's only fair dedicated to plastic arts, will take place from October 4 to 6, 2024, at the 19th-century Villa Bagatti Valsecchi in Varedo. Directed by Ilaria Centola, the fair features a curatorial intervention by Valerio Dehò, who adapted the layout to the villa's rooms, encouraging a fluid path and a stricter selection of participants based on quality. Alongside gallery presentations, the program includes exhibitions, performances, and special projects. The exhibition 'This is the End' by artists Elisa Cella, Nicola Evangelisti, Nadia Galbiati, Camilla Marinoni, Andrea Meregalli, and Matteo Suffritti addresses contemporary issues such as wars, pandemics, overpopulation, AI, and femicides. The collective Mistiche Nutelle presents 'Essential' with a curated selection of works. The villa's park hosts large-scale sculptures and environmental installations in 'Out of Limits'. Artists Francesco Garbelli and Carlo Guzzi present site-specific works: Garbelli's works on toponymy and road signs, and Guzzi's 'Altro da me' inspired by Italo Calvino's 'The Cloven Viscount'. Special projects include Andrea Prandi's 'Mazeman Portrait', a transmedial work using an app to compose unique portraits, and 'Tempo mobile incastonato nella forma fossile', a group show curated by Vittorio Raschetti featuring works in wood, leather, and bronze by Helene Foata, GA, Cesare Benaglia, and Ismaele Cabri.
