Milano's Summer Cinema: Drive-In and Secret Screenings Return

This summer, Milan offers a variety of outdoor cinema experiences, including the return of the drive-in at Idroscalo di Segrate until July 30, organized by Cinema Bianchini in collaboration with Gruppo Milano Card. The drive-in, a nostalgic nod to 1950s American pop culture, features films from Mediaset's library, focusing on Italian comedy classics by Totò and Verdone. Additionally, the 'Cinema segreto' initiative takes viewers to unusual locations such as the courtyard of the Università Statale and the rooftops of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. At the Università Statale, until September 15, tickets include film screenings and visits to the Archivio Storico and Sepolcreto della Ca' Granda. The 'Cinema sui Tetti' runs until October 30 on the ancient walkways of the Galleria, with programming curated by film journalist Antonio Autieri and Fondazione Cineteca Italiana, featuring classics like 'Voglio danzar con te', 'Il Sospetto', and 'Il posto delle fragole', along with art and culture films. Edoardo Filippo Scarpellini, CEO of Gruppo MilanoCard, stated that combining great films with the rediscovery of suggestive locations attracts more spectators and builds loyalty. Other initiatives include 'Scendi c'è il cinema', organized by the Laboratorio di quartiere Giambellino-Lorenteggio, which revitalizes courtyards of ringhiera houses for collective cinema experiences.
