cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

Founded in 1979 by Maria Cristina Spigaglia, the Libreria dello Spettacolo in Milan has become a historic hub for performing arts literature. Located at Via Terraggio 11, near Cadorna station, the bookstore offers rare volumes, scripts, posters, and memorabilia. It provides editorial consultancy and searches for out-of-print books. The store has attracted figures like François Truffaut. In 2013, it co-founded LIM (Librerie Indipendenti Milano), an association of over 30 independent bookstores in Milan. Since February 2025, it has been part of the Albo delle librerie milanesi di prossimità, a quality certification register. The bookstore is also part of the UNESCO City of Literature network and won the Premio della Cultura from the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers in 1986.
