Milano is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Piazza Fontana bombing, which occurred on December 12, 1969, with two photographic exhibitions. At Palazzo Morando, the exhibit “Piazza Fontana. The Photos of a Massacre that Changed Italy Forever” runs until February 9, showcasing black-and-white images of 1960s Milan and highlighting the tragedy’s profound impact. Concurrently, the Casa della Memoria is hosting “17 Scratches. Piazza Fontana 50th,” open until December 20, featuring 18 photos paired with poetry to honor the 17 victims. The last photograph, created by the curator, represents the 18,262 days since the attack.
