Milano Map Fair: Seventh Edition of Cartography and View Art Fair

The Milano Map Fair, a specialized fair dedicated to antique cartography and vedutismo, returns for its seventh edition on January 19, 2019. Organized by the cultural association Civitellarte in collaboration with the Associazione Roberto Almagià – Associazione Italiana Collezionisti di Cartografia Antica, the event will be held at the Hotel Michelangelo in Milan. The fair offers a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts to explore a curated selection of antique prints, celestial charts, planispheres, globes, and wall maps spanning various historical periods. Exhibitors include Italian dealers such as Antica Cartografia di Riccardo Morganti, Antiquarius, Ex Libris, Galleria Trincia (Rome), Bazzani Stampe Antiche (Verona), La Tramite, Pettinaroli F. Stampe Antiche (Milan), Old Times (Perugia), and Trippini Sergio – Studio Bibliografico Stampe Antiche (Gavirate, Varese). International participants include Altea Antique Maps & Old Charts (London), Eosphoros Antique Books & Images LTD (Cyprus), Librairie Loeb-Larocque (Paris), and Alexandre Antique Prints, Maps and Books (Toronto, Canada). Barbara Bilancioni of Civitellarte noted that similar fairs exist in Paris, London, and America, and the aim is to promote this niche sector in Italy. The fair is open to both seasoned collectors and newcomers, with a full catalog available online. The event underscores the enduring appeal of cartography and view art as collectible fields.
