Milano Design Week 2018: Four Highlights

The 2018 Milano Design Week featured four key exhibitions. Alcova, a collaboration between Space Caviar and Studio Vedét, occupied a former panettone factory in NoLO, showcasing twenty avant-garde European designers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, and Georgia, alongside talks and shows. Ventura Future, organized by Organization in Design, moved from Lambrate to northeast of Corso Buenos Aires, with venues at LOFT, the former pharmacy faculty in viale Abruzzi 42, and FuturDome, which also hosted the first FuturDome Prize. Lexus presented Limitless Co-existence by Japanese designer Sota Ichikawa at the Cavallerizze of the Museo della Scienza e della Tecnologia, an installation of illuminated ropes symbolizing global cooperation, alongside twelve Lexus Design Award 2018 finalists. At SuperstudioPiù, Tokyo-based Nendo, led by Oki Sato, created a labyrinth of over 800 square meters featuring Forms of Movement, exploring ten concepts around motion with finished products, models, and sketches.
