Milano Design Film Festival Returns with Artist Films and Guest Curator Davide Giannella
The Milano Design Film Festival returns on October 6, 2016, with a program that includes an homage to Gordon Matta-Clark and a selection of artist films curated by Davide Giannella. The festival, which saw over 15,000 attendees last year, aims to become a reference point for national productions on design and architecture. Giannella, a 1981-born independent curator, has organized the section "Filter. Spazi delle immagini in movimento" as a collective exhibition, focusing on semantic relationships between films rather than premieres. The lineup includes Thomas Koolhaas's homage to his father, Gabriela Bernd's documentary on the Campana brothers, and Superflex's "Kwassa Kwassa" about boat-building on Anjouan, Comoros. The festival runs from October 6 to 9 at Anteo Spazi Cinema in Milan, coinciding with the new Fall Design Week and supported by Salone del Mobile, Triennale, Naba, and SAE Institute.
