Milano Design Film Festival 2017 explores time through design, architecture, and art
The fifth edition of the Milano Design Film Festival (MDFF), directed by Antonella Dedini and Silvia Robertazzi, runs until October 22 at the new Anteo Palazzo del Cinema in Milan. The festival's theme, "Portraits of our time," centers on time, featuring over 60 films. Highlights include world premieres of MDFF's first production, "Gillo Dorfles. In un bicchier d'acqua" (2017) by Francesco Clerici, and "Il Treno di Sottsass" (2017) by Valeria Parisi, celebrating Ettore Sottsass's centenary. Other films cover Konstantin Grcic, Zaha Hadid, Lucio Fontana, and Bjarke Ingels. Guest curators Patricia Urquiola and Alberto Zontone selected the "Cronotopia" section, mixing sci-fi, auteur, animation, and documentary. Collaborations include the Dutch Consulate, Jerusalem Design Week, and design brands. Tickets: single screenings €5, daily pass €15, unlimited subscription €40.
