Milano Cortina 2026 unveils dynamic visual identity and torch design

architecture-design · 2026-04-26

The visual branding for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has been unveiled, emphasizing human movement and gesture. Created by a team from Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, under the direction of Raffaella Paniè, in collaboration with Milanese agency Angelini Design, the identity showcases striking symbols, lively colors, and dynamic shapes. At its core are pictograms crafted with input from International Sports Federations, capturing the essence of athletes through energetic tensions. Five figures representing modern Italian culture embody creativity, energy, imagination, passion, and style. The torch for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, named Essential, was designed by Carlo Ratti Associati in partnership with Cavagna Group, commissioned by Eni. It operates on bio-LPG, is constructed from recycled materials, and has a visible internal mechanism.
