Milan's Santa Giulia launches two-year cultural program We Are MSG
Lendlease has announced We Are MSG, a two-year cultural activation program for the Milan Santa Giulia urban regeneration project in the southern quadrant of Milan. The program, curated by mare culturale urbano and Big Spaces, aims to rebuild community identity ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympics, which will be hosted in Milan and Cortina. The initiative includes weekly and monthly events such as aperitifs with DJ sets, dance afternoons, creative workshops for families, outdoor yoga and pilates, and collective training runs. The first event takes place on September 21, 2024, in Piazza Modotti, featuring workshops, live music, tournaments, poetry and street art performances, DJ sets, and collective karaoke. The program also launches its first artist residency with Dario Pruonto, known as Caos, a 1992-born artist and poet. Concurrently, construction continues on the 16,000-seat arena designed by Arup and David Chipperfield Architects, which will host Olympic events and later become a sports and live events hub. The Campus Bosco della Musica construction is set to begin in early 2025. The masterplan for Milan Santa Giulia was developed by Mario Cucinella Architects, covering approximately 1,100,000 square meters with 670,000 square meters of building rights.
