Milan's house museums launch chatbot game via Telegram and Facebook Messenger

Four house museums in Milan—Museo Poldi Pezzoli, Museo Bagatti Valsecchi, Villa Necchi Campiglio, and Casa-Museo Boschi Di Stefano—are launching a digital adventure game accessible via Telegram or Facebook Messenger. The project, called ChatbotGame, is funded by Fondazione Cariplo and developed by Invisiblestudio, a cultural communication studio based in Milan and London. Starting in the coming months, visitors can interact with a virtual character (a chatbot) that guides them through an interactive story, hunting for clues to defeat a real Renaissance magician. The game encourages exploration of both the museums and the surrounding neighborhood, and players can visit all four museums on different days to solve the final puzzle. While chatbots have been used in museums before (e.g., Mart in Rovereto), this is among the first worldwide examples of using chat platforms for a full-fledged museum game. The initiative aims to engage younger generations through chat-based storytelling and gamification, turning the museum visit into an edutainment experience.
