festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The first edition of the Festival Internazionale di Poesia di Milano will take place on Saturday, May 14, at the MUDEC – Museo delle Culture, featuring 41 events from morning to evening. Organized by the Associazione MilanoFestivaLetteratura, the festival intertwines poetry with music, dance, theater, poetic actions, workshops, meetings with publishers, and a dedicated area for children and families. Key focuses include poetry workshops held in the prisons of Opera, San Vittore, and Marassi, as well as in geriatric centers. Highlights include Bebo Storti presenting 'Guida sentimentale di Milano,' a recital of poems by Alfonso Gatto accompanied by Danilo Rossi, first viola of Teatro alla Scala; excerpts from 'La vita facile' dedicated to Alda Merini; and 'Il nostro cuore delle dimensioni di un pugno chiuso' based on writings by Fernando Pessoa. The festival will also feature an unprecedented dialogue between Milanese poets Antonia Pozzi and Emilia Villoresi, who never met in life, staged by the ensemble Poeticanti. Poetic actions include a collective autobiography homage to Nazim Hikmet, a self-managed installation with posters from Assalto Poetico, installations by Poesie Stese, and the project Poesia Urgente for Giulio Regeni.
