Milan's CityLife Park Becomes Largest Public Contemporary Art Museum with New Installations
On September 9, 2020, as part of Milan Art Week, ArtLine Milano unveiled two new installations within CityLife park, which is transforming into the largest open-air contemporary art museum. Maurizio Nannucci (born Florence, 1939) presented "New Times for Other Ideas / New Ideas for Other Times," a dual neon sign in blue and red affixed to the facade of Padiglione 3, the only remaining pavilion from the original Milan Fair, designed by architect Paolo Vietti Violi in 1923. Nannucci aims to create independent signs that interact with architecture without overshadowing it. Additionally, Alfredo Prieto (born Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, 1978) introduced "Beso," two boulders positioned as if in a kiss, juxtaposed against a backdrop of urban offices and shopping centers. The park is home to six sculptures by artists including Riccardo Benassi and Judith Hopf, with future works anticipated from Rossella Biscotti, Shilpa Gupta, and others.
