Milan Museums Go Digital During Second COVID-19 Lockdown
In response to the shutdown of Italian museums until mid-January 2021, cultural venues in Milan have expanded their digital offerings. The Museo del Novecento is now featured on Google Arts & Culture with a virtual reality experience and introduced KITEDU900 for children, which includes a narrated tour, a workshop inspired by Emilio Isgrò, and an online competition. The Museo Poldi Pezzoli has shifted its focus to Instagram, producing more short videos and interactive stories. On October 30, Gallerie d'Italia launched a significant exhibition honoring Giambattista Tiepolo for his 250th anniversary, showcasing over 70 pieces, though it closed on November 6. A virtual tour is now offered. Additionally, the Pinacoteca di Brera introduced Brera On Air, while notable street art features murals by Orticanoodles, Os Gemeos, Millo, and Iena Cruz, with a map available at streetartmapme.com.
