Milan Design Week 2026: 9 standout installations

Milan Design Week 2026 featured nine notable installations across the city. H&M Home debuted with Kelly Wearstler at Palazzo Acerbi, previewing nine pieces from a 29-object modular collection launching September 3, 2026. Alcova took over Villa Pestarini, a 1938 rationalist house by Franco Albini, never before open to the public, with Patricia Urquiola's Cassina carpet installation. Aesop presented its first lamp, Aposē, at Chiesa di Santa Maria del Carmine, combining hand-cast brass and blown glass. Interni Venosta exhibited in Osvaldo Borsani's 1947-48 apartment, also opened for the first time. Louis Vuitton's Objets Nomades honored Art Déco designer Pierre Legrain at Palazzo Serbelloni, with a student installation from Accademia di Brera. Alcova's second location, the Military Hospital of Baggio (1928-31), hosted Sten Studio's wedding ceremony installation using natural stone. Gucci Memoria, curated by Demna Gvasalia, traced 105 years through 12 tapestries and a floral garden at San Simpliciano cloisters. ICEX and Interiors from Spain presented 'Appartamento Spagnolo' at Palazzo Castiglioni with 22 Spanish firms curated by Studio Pepe. Kerakoll's 'Teatro della Vita' by Nathalie Du Pasquier and George Sowden at Brera showroom used 1,500 Kerakoll Colors to realize a 1984 drawing series.
