Mikhail Chernishov's Radical Reduction at IFA Gallery
From August 23 to October 13, 2002, the IFA Gallery in Berlin showcased an exhibition by Mikhail Chernishov titled "No Additions – A Principle Solution Has to Be Reduced to the Essential." The collection featured works Chernishov developed in 1961 for his inaugural "living room exhibition." In this exhibit, the artist explored concepts inspired by international art publications and incorporated elements from influential figures such as Kazimir Malevich, Jackson Pollock, and Ad Reinhardt. Chernishov aimed to convey that artwork transcends its role as a simple representation, inviting deeper engagement with the viewer.
